Winter is also know (for me anyway) as soup season. What's better then a big bowl of warm steamy soup as big, fat, fluffy snowflakes are falling out your window? This soup is really, really good. I found it to be a perfect soup for that particular cold, snowy day. So hearty, and simply yummy!

I've said before my family and I are seasonal eaters. I love eating seasonal foods! Spring there's plenty of greens, summer tons of fresh fruits and vegetables, fall there's lots of squash and root vegetables.....and winter? Well, bread. Baked goods of all kinds is winter food. Basically. Some of you may not agree with me on seasonal foods. However, I'm sure you'll agree with me when you make a batch of these warm, herby biscuits that these are so considered winter food. And amazingly tasty!
My dad lives on coffee. Every morning I wake up to the sound of him grinding coffee beans into fresh grinds for his daily wake up. Believe me, it smells amazing! Being a girl after my dad's heart, I drink coffee almost daily as well. My dad makes fun of me cause he says I make and drink "cowboy coffee." Apparently cowboy coffee is super black and has 'sludge' on the bottom of your mug. That's how I like it, so, to bad. But sometimes I do like to have a special coffee with yummy creamer and such. No way will I buy the store bought, bad for you stuff. Yep. I'm going to make my own! My dad will even use this creamer sometimes! It's not very sweet, but it's creamy with a hint of vanilla. It adds a little something special if you don't want to use just plain milk or cream. And it takes like, less then 5 minutes to put together!
Happy New Year! Okay, yeah, I realize that's a little late. But hey, better late then never! Hope your day was awesome! So did you stay up? Eat snacks? We sure did! Make any resolutions you plan to keep? Hehe. Lots of new things have been happening over here, like, a new computer for example. So I'm still trying to figure out how it works to get posts for you guys! So I'm sorry for the long wait. I'm SO not a computer person. But I'm learning the works and am bringing you this amazing country potato bake! This is one of my favorite things to make when we have overnight guests. It's warm, creamy, and filled with potatoes, cheese and bacon! Who could ask for more?
