In my family I do most of the cooking. One of my younger brothers often volunteers to make pizza, or other fun things like that, which, I'm thankful for seeing that it gives me a break. He does quiet well, and I'm surprised at how good he's doing! A different younger brother of mine doesn't know the difference from a teaspoon from a tablespoon! So you can imagine my utter shock when he and yet, another younger brother were standing in the kitchen with a big plate of these yummy looking date bars.
Let me remind you that my younger brothers are not, like, cute little boys. They are all taller then me, bigger then me, and could smash down a wall just by bumping into it. I live with big boys. So now you can picture a little bit better these two young men holding a plate of their work of art begging me to put the recipe on my blog. How could I not? After all, they did taste amazing!
These are simple date bars...altered by hungry boys. The name "Beep Bars" is named after the boy who made them, though, "Beep" is not his real name, so relax. They are actually good for you, being made with all raw ingredients and no sugar. I was surprised at how good they actually were! I'm looking over the chicken scratch he wrote down, calling it a recipe. Oh boy. Good luck!
Thanks, and much love, Beep for sharing the recipe. ;)
Beep Bars
2 cups oats
1-1/4 pound date paste
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup organic chocolate chips
1/4 cup cocoa powder
2 Tbsp. honey
6 walnuts, ground (don't ask. It's what he wrote)
1 cup cashews
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup coconut flakes
Mix all ingredients except date paste. Cut in date paste until a big, sticky mess forms. Dump on a clean surface and press out flat. Cut into bars and eat!
