Okay, well this isn't really a recipe. But, it's an idea for you if you've completely run out of ideas for your Valentine! This is actually really easy to make and takes only a few hours (paint's got to dry). It's super versatile too, you can choose whatever color your want the jar or use two or three!
I'm not big into giving Valentine's Day cards and gifts. It seems kind of dumb to me. However, I'm totally for giving cards and/or gifts to that one or two or maybe even three special people in your life. In my case one's for my dad, and the other two are for my very, very dear girlfriends. Nope, this chick don't got no boyfriend. That makes it kind of easy. ;)
It all starts with the jars. I chose pint size glass canning jars. The pink one is totally smooth except for the little "mason" thing on the other side. I'm not sure what size the purple one is, but it has that 'quilting' over the whole thing. It doesn't have to be perfectly smooth, but that makes the heart part easier.
What I did was I cut out a paper heart the size I wanted the clear heart shaped 'window' and taped the edges of it. I then taped the heart onto the jar. Now you paint.
I just used some old acrylic paint I found around. First you paint the whole jar white. Except for the heart, obviously, you paint around that. Once that drys (or is mostly dry for you impatient folks like me) you get it paint it pink, or red, or purple, or whatever color or colors you want!

If you want to add glitter do it while the paint is still wet. But do be careful. Glitter will haunt you for the rest of your life if you make a huge mess. I still got a sparkle or two hanging around.....
Once you've finished painting you get to make the goodies for the inside!

Who doesn't like candy? Or chocolates? Who doesn't even more so when the recipient knows you made them with some tender loving care! I just hope my dad doesn't mind the pink jar.....
All I did was take some organic pretzels and dip them in organic melted chocolate chips and topped them with smashed organic m&m type things. Yeah, okay. I'm a little obsessed. Whatever. Deal with it.
Also I took those, traditional shaped pretzels and spooned a bit of the melted chocolate in those and stuck two organic m&ms on top. Those are my favorite!
For the tall purple jar I filled it with mini no bake cookies. It's for a younger girl and she literally LOVES no bake cookies. For something special I topped them with, ahem, organic sprinkles. Not a word.

I spray painted the lids burgundy. Obviously you can choose any color you want, but I found spray paint works the best for the lids. Once the lids and jars and dry, fill 'em to the very top with your homemade goodies!! Set them up and stare at them for a few minutes. They're super cute in my opinion.
Running out of ideas for your special someone? Why not give this a try? It really isn't hard and you can fill it with whatever you want! You could use Sweet and Salty Chocolate Cups, cut out heart shaped brownies, or even fill it with Chocolate Granola!
Happy Valentine's Day!
