It's Thanksgiving week! I can hardly believe it! Prepare yourself for a week full of cooking and fun family gatherings! But for now, let me share with you a recipe that will wow your guests and their taste buds!
This my friends, is the best cheese ball I've ever made! Okay, well, honestly, this is the only cheese ball I've ever made, but that should be a testimony in its self! It's packed with SO much flavor and little did I know that making a cheese ball is SO stinkin' easy!! And this is perfect for the appetizer table with an assortment of crackers!
You can easily make this the day before to help save time, plus it gives the flavors a chance to meld. I know when I make this I want the flavors to meld as long as possible cause that makes it THAT much better!
This is always a favorite at my house. I hope it becomes one at yours too!
Gourmet Cheese Ball
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/2 tsp. basil
1/2 tsp. marjoram
1/2 tsp. dried sweet peppers
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. pepper
3/4 tsp. salt
2 cream cheese cubes, softened (16 oz)
1 stick butter, softened
1 1/4 cup cheddar cheese
1/2 cup slivered almonds
Set out the butter and cream cheese to soften. Mix together all the herbs and whip into the butter and cream cheese. Blend very well, about 4 minutes, until the mixture has an even consistency. Add the cheddar cheese and blend on low. Form mixture into a ball and roll in slivered almonds. Refrigerating for at least 2 hours before serving will harden and form the ball while infusing all the flavors together. Allow to sit about 10 minutes before serving. Arrange on your favorite serving dish with bread, crackers, chips or veggies and enjoy!
