Sage Sausage with Cinnamon Apples
8oz bulk sausage
1/2 tsp. rubbed sage
1/2 tsp. maple syrup
1/2 tsp. marjoram leaf
1/2 tsp. pepper flakes
1-2 apples, pealed, cored, and sliced
1 tsp. maple syrup
cinnamon
In a bowl, mix together the spices with the meat. Use your hands and mix really well to make sure the spices are throughly mixed. Form into patties, about 4-5, and cook in a cast iron skillet until done.
Meanwhile, prepare your apple/s. Once chopped, toss in a bowl with the syrup and sprinkled of cinnamon.
Once the sausage is done, set aside. Cook the apples in the same pan as the sausage until tender. This doesn't take long. I even like to have some of them crisp up, but that's totally up to you and how you like your apples done. Serve warm!
