In my family I do most of the cooking. One of my younger brothers often volunteers to make pizza, or other fun things like that, which, I'm thankful for seeing that it gives me a break. He does quiet well, and I'm surprised at how good he's doing! A different younger brother of mine doesn't know the difference from a teaspoon from a tablespoon! So you can imagine my utter shock when he and yet, another younger brother were standing in the kitchen with a big plate of these yummy looking date bars. Let me remind you that my younger brothers are not, like, cute little boys. They are all taller then me, bigger then me, and could smash down a wall just by bumping into it. I live with big boys. So now you can picture a little bit better these two young men holding a plate of their work of art begging me to put the recipe on my blog. How could I not? After all, they did taste amazing!

I'm not a big fan of spice cookies. Or simple, dry, crummy cookies. Or oatmeal raisin cookies! Seriously? Why would anyone put raisins in a cookie? I mean really! Bleck! Okay, sorry for bashing all you oatmeal raisin cookie fans, but I just don't understand you. But, since I know you spice and raisin cookie lovers are going to hate me if I say anymore I'm telling you now, I'm posting this gingersnap cookie recipe with you in mind! Also, I have a killer recipe in mind that uses a batch of these babies. Oh so good. But until then, let's just eat these! They are super good warm!
Can you believe I've never made a poke cake before? Well, not officially, I've poked my cakes before but it was totally unnecessary. This was one of the yummiest cakes I've made in a looong time! And perfect for this crisp autumn weather too! It's really not that complicated to make, it just has several steps. This is oh-so-good. Sinfully delicious!! It's (in my opinion) way better then caramel apples!
The simplicities of life are often the most wonderful. I wouldn't consider corn bread wonderful but I can't imagine life without it. Before I started making this recipe I couldn't never find a corn bread that I actually enjoyed eating. Something that wasn't to dry, or crumbly, or had a funky flavor. Once I found this, I don't think I'll ever make anything different!
