Ahh, one of my favorite ice cream flavors! What better way to send off summer then with ice cream? Some folks consider Labor Day as the ending of summer and the unofficial beginning to fall, just as Memorial Day the beginning of summer. So, what are you going to eat?
How's about Cookies 'n Cream Ice Cream? I don't know of anyone who would turn that down! Cause really, who doesn't like Oreo cookies? Homemade oreo cookies!! ;)
I've made a lot of ice cream in my short little life. Really, for a chick of my age I've made a ton! Then can you believe this is the first time I've ever made a homemade version of cookies 'n cream? It's been on my bucket list since I learned to write! Now, since I've made a lot of ice cream of many, many, many different flavors you'd think nothing could surprise me at how good it could be. Wrong. I was totally blown away at how delicious this ice cream was!
The normal spot where I take my pictures for the blog had recently been taken over by canning supplies. The lighting was nice outside, so I decided to set up shop out there.
I knew it was going to rain soon and I had to get these pictures taken before it did. So I took out my white cloths, set up my little spot, and scooped up some ice cream. After battling off the swarm of curious kittens I turned my camera on and started snapping. Thunder is a real motivator. I felt the wind picking up, and those darn kittens wouldn't leave me (or the ice cream) alone making the task quite difficult. I took the last picture, content with how it looked and as soon as I turned my camera off, it started pouring. No joke. Thankfully I was right by the door to save the ice cream and my camera before helping the kittens to shelter (and getting soaked to the skin). It was a nasty storm that lasted all day. But I'm so happy I got my pictures before the storm! Like, right before the storm!

Anyway, this is one of the best homemade ice creams I have ever made. If you love Oreo's then you'll love this homemade ice cream!
